Tips For The CD Poker Room
CD Poker offers some pretty basic poker tips on their website. These CD Poker tips should help you when you come to play at CD Poker's real money tables. Were going to expand on the tips they offer in this article.
Be patient.
This is a good tip and will definitely help you at the CD Poker tables. Basically new or inexperienced players have the tendency to play far to many hands. If you be selective and only play a few hands you will find yourself winning more. By no means are we saying that playing loads of hands is unprofitable but to do this well requires a lot of experience.
You can't always win.
This is one of poker's fundamental rules. No matter how “well” you play with the variance poker has you could still lose money. You have to remember poker is a long term game and the losses you make now, when replayed could mean profits in the future. Don't go to the table with the mentality “I'll stop when I reach $xxx” that won't help you and you will end up taking undue risks to make money.
Work your way up slowly.
Remember poker is a game which has a high rate of variance, this depends heavily on the style you play, you can't always win. Now if you have a $200 bankroll you shouldn't go and jump in to a $1/$2 cash table with all of this.
Because if you do happen to “get unlucky” you will lose your entire roll. With $200 you can comfortably play the 5c/10c tables, as you have 20 full $10 buyin's in your bankroll. This maybe boring, but you won't be over committing any of your bankroll!
Keep track of your play.
You should keep track of your play if you want to maximise the chance you have of being successful. The iPoker network, which CD Poker is on allows you to use poker tracking software such as Poker Office and Poker Tracker. Both of these great pieces of software should help your game.
Don't run before you can walk.
Just because you've seen other people play more then one table don't automatically assume you should do the same. Take your time building up towards playing multiple tables. Conquer the poker basics before over complicating the game by playing on multiple tables.
Take notes.
You should be utilising all the information you have on every poker player you come across. If a player with username “Donk65738” calls to much, write it on their player notes. These can only be accessed by you so don't worry know one else will see them. This information could prove important when you meet that player again on the virtual felt.
